Hi, I’m Zoë Kim. A wife, mom to four, writer and horticulturist.
Here at The Minimalist Plate, I write about the pursuit of living an intentional life, by owning less, creating new habits and cultivating opportunities to give.
Minimalism is a vehicle (and philosophy) that helps you recognize what adds value to your life, so you can let go of what doesn’t. It gives you the opportunity to see and use your ‘blessings’, and innate privilege to lift others up.
I created this website to encourage you to simplify your plate.
I’ve called 10 different states home in the U.S with Hawaii stealing my heart. I love questions, embrace meaningful change and crave simplicity. I love Jesus, people, Sriracha sauce, sunshine, coffee, nature, and the heartening sound of my children’s laughter.
My family and I started minimizing our possessions about 6 years ago (um yeah, it has taken us a bit of time), aiming to keep only what we love and know to be useful.
As a former military family, we have moved numerous times. Constantly relocating with the Air Force gave us a first-hand look at all our stuff. So much stuff. Even our stuff owned stuff. Why did we hold on to so many things? We found ourselves regularly preoccupied with managing our possessions and schedules, wasting precious time.
I hope you’re inspired to remove all the good things taking away from the best things.
